A word from the boss

“Manchester has everything going for it” said Aziz Rashid, the new Head of Regional and Local Programmes for BBC North West.

Aziz decided to move up North himself and having lived down South for more than 20 years he said “it’s nice to be back” and since moving to Manchester seven weeks ago it’s been a bit “fast and furious”.

He expressed how he likes working up here due to the low living costs when compared to London. He is impressed with Manchester’s “amazing” transformation and how it’s not intense or overcrowded in the North!

He hopes by the time the BBC moves to the MediaCityUK “we’ll be ablt to work in new ways” in terms of departments moving up North.
